Massage is a "hands-on" therapy, manipulation
of muscles, soft tissues and connective tissue to enhance the
function of those tissues and promote relaxation and well-being.
Most people know that massage therapy is a proven and effective
means of relaxation and stress relief. Massage therapy can also
provide a number of therapeutic benefits, including:
Reducing stress and tension
Improving flexibility
Increasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers
Assisting in recovery from auto accident injury
Strengthening the immune system
Improving circulation problems
Alleviating chronic & temporary pain
We offer a variety of massages ranging from gentle
stroking and kneading of muscles and other soft tissues to deeper
manual techniques. Some popular types are:-
Swedish Massage- the most common
type, given to relax, reduce stress, and increase circulation
and range of motion.
Deep Tissue Massage- has a firmer
pressure that works deeply into the muscles and connective tissues
to release chronic aches and pains.
Neuromuscular Therapy- used to stop
spasms and pain by applying pressure to specific points in the
muscles that are painfully irritated (trigger points).
Injury Massage- to help prevent further
injury, keeps the body flexible, and assist in the recovery
process, either from sports or an auto accident.
We offer combination massages of the above, also
Shiatsu, therapeutic and maternity massage. We have also achieved
great success with patients that have fibromyalgia, pain &
inflammation, stress, on a weight
loss program and those that have been in auto
accidents needing relief from whiplash type symptoms such
as irritation of nerves that go down the leg or arm, and patients
with disc involvement.
After a massage you can expect to feel more relaxed, less tension
or stress, feel less pain and evoke feelings of calmness. A
massage can be a work out so we recommend you start drinking
water immediately after. The reason for this is although massage
affects the body as a whole, it particularly influences the
activity of the musculoskeletal, circulatory, lymphatic, and
nervous systems and we want to make sure the body has water
to perform all of these functions effectively.
