The pictures shown in the chart above are of the various stages of vertebral Subluxation degeneration. Everyday natural occurrences such as crooking your neck to cradle a phone, jumping on a trampoline, possibly a previous back injury or neck injury, or even emotional stress, can cause Vertebral Subluxation. If uncorrected, Subluxation can lead to vertebral degeneration or arthritis!
Vertebral Subluxation is no simple matter, and could lead to serious spinal damage in the future.

The normal "textbook" spine is aligned correctly and is without signs of degeneration or Subluxation. Periodic check-ups are recommended to maintain and to regulate the prevention of future degeneration.

Phase one degeneration is slightly more severe as damage has been done to the soft tissue and misalignment has occurred. With regular Chiropractic treatment, near normal spinal correction is usually possible. Symptoms at this point may be intermittent, or non-existent.

Phase two physiologically is quite degenerated with disc narrowing, bone spurs, and nerve aggravation. Fusing of vertebral bones is a possibility at this stage. Chiropractic treatment should be performed to preserve motion, and to slow the process of degeneration.

Phase three is characterized by joints that have become immobilized, bone fusion has taken place, and extensive scar tissue has formed. With the correct chiropractic care and adjustments, there is a good chance that the process of degeneration may be slowed or stopped but extensive damage has already occurred and this patient will always have a predisposition for problems.
