Scoliosis - test your child...

    

Scoliosis is the lateral deviation of the spine, to one side instead of being straight.

There are two types of scoliosis:

1. Functional cause for example muscle spasm, muscular imbalance. . .

2. Structural cause for example bone malformations,hemivertebra, facet tropism. . .
Here is a simple home test parents can perform before consulting a Chiropractic Physician.

Perform this simple test:

Have the child strip to the waist and
observe the posture from behind.

Does the child hold the head tipped to one side?

Is one shoulder higher than the other?

Does the waist curve in more on one side?

Does one hip appear higher, than the other?

Have the child bend over at the waist.

Does one side of the spine appear more prominent?

If the answer is YES to any one of these questions, the child is showing signs of Scoliosis.
